The Week of Prayer and Fasting
January 23-29th

Why Prayer and Fasting?

“Yet even now,” declares the Lord,  “return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments.”
Return to the Lord your God,  for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love.
Joel 2:12-13
For over ten years, we gather as a church every January and humbly set all else aside to pray and fast. God speaks through prayer - sharing His truth, love and conviction for us. Throughout Scripture, believers are encouraged to pray and fast as they seek the Lord. This is our desire - to gather as a church to seek God's heart for each individual, and for all of us as a church family. We encourage you to join us. As a church family, this is one of our favorite weeks of the entire year.

Morning Meetings

Come pray with us Monday-Friday morning, January 24-28th. Morning Prayer meets from 6-7 am each day in the Sanctuary. We will spend time in acoustic worship, and pray in a group setting. There will also be space for personal reflection, and prayer with an elder or staff if needed. Children and families are welcome to come.

Noon Meetings

Come pray with us Monday-Friday, January 24-28th. Noon Prayer meets from 12-1 pm each day in the Prayer Chapel. We will spend time praying in a group setting. There will also be space for personal reflection, and prayer with an elder or staff if needed.

Evening Meetings

Come pray with us Sunday-Saturday evening, January 23-29th. Evening Prayer meets from 7-8 pm each day in the Sanctuary. We will start with worship together in the Sanctuary. After worship, you are encouraged to join a prayer circle. Prayer circles each have a leader, and allow space to pray over individual needs. There will also be a quiet space for personal reflection in the Sanctuary , and prayer with an elder or staff if needed. Children and families are welcome to come. There will be quiet activities for children to use as needed.
Our Sanctuary is a mask-optional space. If masks are preferred, there will be a mask-required space in our Prayer Chapel.

Tips and Resources

  • Prepare ahead - spend time in prayer about what you should fast from and pray over.  Many people set aside this week to seek direction and wisdom for decisions they need to make, but you could also spend time praying for others.  Some people fast from food while others will fast from social media.  What you fast from and pray for is up to you!
  • Get prayed for - it is our privileges to be able to pray for each other and intercede for the things we each carry and are seeking the Lord about.
  • Set aside time for just you and the Lord - this week is an incredible time for corporate prayer, but don't miss out on the things God would reveal to you by spending time alone with Him.
  • Check out our resources - we want you to have a successful week with the Lord so we have teachings and other resources listed below.
  • Talk to our staff - if you have questions or would like more information about how to engage with the week of prayer and fasting, call us at 541-752-2851 or email us at
