Why We Give
Thank you for supporting the ministries at Calvary Chapel Corvallis. We are committed to using your gifts wisely and in a manner which is pleasing to the Lord. At Calvary Corvallis we consider giving a form of worship to the Lord, which is why we receive tithes and offerings as a part of our Sunday services.

We believe in giving because of the GRACE God has given us.
- Tithes and offerings fund church ministries, facilities and staff. In addition some of these funds are directed to benevolence, local outreaches, church planting and worldwide missions.
- Special ministry gifts are often given for special projects, ministries and missionaries.
- Youth & College Scholarship Fund - Throughout the year we will have opportunities to give directly to our youth and college ministries. These funds will go towards retreats, camps and mission trips.
- Gifts other than cash- Sometimes God directs individual believers to give gifts other than cash to Calvary Corvallis. If you have something God has put on your heart to give you should visit with Administrative Pastor, Reuben Wai, or one of the ministry leaders. We can issue you a letter for the taxing authorities, acknowledging your donation
- Estate giving- If God has put it on your heart to give some of your estate to the church, please contact us to learn more about the various options available to you.
Financial Information
The finances of Calvary Corvallis are overseen by our three Board of Directors:
Rob Verdeyen – President
Scott Cowden - Vice President
Allan Fleming – Secretary/Treasurer
Rob Brawn - Board Member
Reuben Wai, our Administrative Pastor, oversees church operations pertaining to finances, budgets, financial policies, and serves as an admin to the Board. KariAn Geoghegan oversees the bookkeeping and financial record keeping functions.
The Church financial records and policies are fully audited every two years according to nationally accredited accounting standards by independent auditing firm, Brenner CPA's. The church's Annual Compiled Financial Statements continue to be completed by independent CPA firms, Kuenzi and Company LLC, and SingerLewak. Both firms are located in Salem OR.
DEFINING DONATIONS
Our church is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All donations fall into two categories, Designated Funds and General Funds.
General Fund gifts support the church’s ministry and operating needs. These gifts are given without restriction. Church leadership reviews needs throughout the year and communicates them to the church. General Fund donations are applied to the areas that require support.
Current General Fund Items: Tithes, Summer BBQ, Ongoing Work of the Church, Holiday Food Baskets, Benevolence Ministry, All Events, Real Life General Operations
Designated Fund gifts let you indicate a preference for a specific ministry or project made known by the church. The church will make reasonable efforts to use your gift for that specific need and purpose.
Current Designated Fund Items: Youth and College Scholarships, The Mortgage, and all Real Life Campus Missionaries
To comply with IRS requirements, all gifts are received with the understanding that the church has full discretion and control over the use of donated funds. If a designated need is fully met or no longer possible, remaining funds may be used for other ministry needs that are as close as possible to the original intent.
Contact Pastor Reuben by email or at 541-752-2851 if you have questions about church finances or how funds are handled.

Calvary Corvallis Loan Balance
After over a decade of being a mobile church, God has provided an amazing home base for ministry on 50 acres of land overlooking Corvallis. We are currently paying off the remaining loan balance of $1.11 million. For more information about helping retire this debt or continuing to develop the property God has provided contact Reuben Wai (via email or 541-752-2851).
