Matt Axtell grew up in McMinnville, Oregon and at the age of 16 prayed with his youth pastor to receive Christ as Lord and Savior. He married his wife Frankie in 1996 at which point they moved to central oregon where Matt began a career as a tradesman for many years. During this time Frankie was able to stay home to raise their 2 children, Myles and Grace.

Matt & Frankie have always had a heart to lead home fellowships & bible studies and to serve in their home church. For a couple of years they led an outreach to at-risk youth from their home on Sunday nights. In 2010 Matt began to pursue more biblical studies as he was sensing a strong calling from the Lord towards full time ministry. Frankie and Matt committed themselves to prayer for direction in this and in 2011 Matt came on staff at Calvary Corvallis.

Matt oversees the Men's Ministry here at Calvary and has a passion for men to be able to engage in all that God has for them! He also oversees the volunteer Property Care Team that care for our beautiful church property and facilities. Matt leads the Deacons group at Calvary as well as an amazing Marriage Mentor team with Frankie.

Matt & Frankie have been married for 30 years and are really enjoying this new season of being empty nesters!
