Ben was born in Berkeley, California, and raised in Cambria before moving to Corvallis, Oregon, where he attended Santiam Christian. After years living in Spain, Switzerland, and Germany and leading a Data Science Engineering Team for the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor, Ben and his wife, Shauna, followed the Lord's leading back to Oregon in January 2025 and began attending Calvary Corvallis.

They jumped in right away, and Ben soon felt a calling to serve in hospitality—bringing healthy menus to the Summer Sunday BBQs and special events, with a vision to grow the ministry through gardening, food preservation, and new ways to serve our community.

Ben and Shauna have been married for 25 years and have three grown kids—Olivia, Rhett, and Zoe. When he's not in the kitchen, Ben loves fly fishing, building apps, and traveling the world.

One of his favorite verses is Colossians 3:23, "whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men."
